AI 4 industry and humans: Explore “Intelligence X.0” at the 2018 new.New Festival

Oh yes – we’re going to do it again. After the huge success of the first new.New Festival in 2016, CODE_n is back with the second edition. In accordance with our mission to “Explore the DNA of Digital Innovation,” in 2018 the festival is all about Intelligence X.0. The second edition of this unconventional event once again welcomes anyone who is genuinely passionate about tech and entrepreneurship – and embraces the opportunities presented by digitalization. The next new.New Festival will take place in Stuttgart, Germany’s stronghold of industry, from October 8 to 10, 2018. Save the date and be prepared for a deep dive into groundbreaking business models based on pioneering technologies, role models, inspiration, open innovation, cultural change, and much, much more!

Many things change, but one thing stays the same: Everything will be new at the new.New Festival! First and foremost, we’re proud to announce that this year’s edition will take place in Stuttgart – the hometown of CODE_n – at the prestigious Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle. The festival is a three-day experience showcasing the brilliant opportunities offered by “Intelligence X.0,” the focal topic of the event. Machine Intelligence, Beyond Reality, and Cryptographic Trust are the exciting and forward-looking categories that will be explored by the 50 most disruptive and game-changing startups. The top 50 will showcase their tech applications at the festival – taking the CODE_n startup competition to the next level. Other pillars of the event will be exhibition and exploration, stage time with inspiring speakers, interactive sessions, and matchmaking and networking.

Upcoming digital trends: Machine Intelligence, Beyond Reality, Cryptographic Trust

The new.New Festival offers you the chance to learn more about cutting-edge and future technologies, plus the business models based on them. In Machine Intelligence we focus not only on robotics, but also look at technologies such as machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, and natural-language processing. Beyond Reality is related to virtual, augmented, and mixed reality as well as digital twins. Rounding out the field of digital trends, Cryptographic Trust is all about blockchain and its various areas of application, edge computing, and cybersecurity.

“A place to meet on an equal footing, without artificial boundaries.”

Open up to the opportunities presented by digital transformation. The new.New Festival works as a shared platform for carefully curated startups and experienced companies and managers, bringing together the (digital) leaders of tomorrow. Inquisitive explorers, passionate innovators, early adopters, and rookies – all flavors of entrepreneur are represented, unveiling their exciting, disruptive business models.

“The new.New Festival is a melting pot that facilitates matchmaking. You will find exactly the contacts you need to promote and accelerate your business. Open up, introduce yourself, and join the conversation!”, so Moritz Gräter, Managing Director CODE_n

Besides the opportunity to easily forge valuable business contacts, you will be deeply inspired by the interactive sessions – and have your mind blown by top speakers who think way, way outside of the box.

Stuttgart – The place to be

With its strong economy and industrial background, Baden-Wuerttemberg – and especially the state capital Stuttgart – is the perfect place to bring the festival spirit to life. A variety of corporate initiatives and three dedicated digital hubs make the region an attractive spot for startup founders. From its long tradition of outstanding inventors and entrepreneurs to its new and dynamic startup and innovation community – the city has become a new focal point for investors. Its excellent digital and transportation infrastructure help make Stuttgart the ideal location for this popular event. As you can see, Silicon Valley is not the only place where digital innovation makes its home!

The state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the city of Stuttgart, and the IT firm GFT Technologies have already been confirmed as new.New Festival partners for 2018. Winfried Kretschmann, Minister-President of Baden-Wuerttemberg and honorary patron of the event, emphasizes that,

“Baden-Wuerttemberg has already made huge progress in establishing itself as a cradle of innovation that can hold its own against international heavyweights like Silicon Valley and Tel Aviv. It’s a place where hard work speaks louder than words. And everyone at the festival will see this when we present our StartupBW activities.”

Tracking down the next big thing: CODE_n CONTEST

The highlight of the new.New Festival is the final of the CODE_n CONTEST: Intelligence X.0. After four successful years at CeBIT, the startup competition is continuing into its sixth edition. A top-notch jury handpicks 50 tech startups from an international field of applicants and invites them to the festival, where they present their outstanding business models aimed at disrupting the status quo. From this selection, a top 10 shortlist is chosen to pitch for the CODE_n awards during the festival. The application phase is now open.
