CODE_n13 finalists Codeatelier and carzapp – exclusively at the Continental stand at the IAA
The IAA – “the world’s most automobile show” – is being held in Frankfurt from September 12–22. This year, the Continental fair stand will host two CODE_n13 finalists: Codeatelier and carzapp. The two startups were invited to present their business ideas at Continental’s IAA stand this year, after winning a special prize at CeBIT in 2013. Each startup will have two days to take part in the show’s publicity week.

Codeatelier’s smart home solution Homee
What is Codeatelier?
Codeatelier will be featured at the international automotive supplier’s stand at the start of the week, on the 16th and 17th of September. The startup won a prize for their smart home solution, Homee. Homee allows users to intelligently and remotely control devices in their home using an app. The IAA will give the creative Swabian team a chance to show how their technology can be integrated into the infotainment system of a motor vehicle. Waldemar Wunder, founder and CEO of Codeatelier, says: “Few visitors expect to soon be able to turn up the heat at home from the comfort of their car while en route. I am convinced that this is truly a great innovation and am really looking forward to getting customer feedback at the IAA.”

What is carzapp?
On the 18th and 19th of September, trade show visitors can look forward to visiting the young entrepreneurs form carzapp. The startup operates a private carsharing platform through which any automobile owner can rent out his or her car. Thanks to a specially designed hardware kit, cars can be unlocked by the renter with a smartphone. Car owners and renters are networked through the carzapp website. Car owners can earn money with their vehicles while renters can enjoy complete insurance coverage. Sharing private vehicles means existing resources can be used more efficiently and spells less overcrowding of parking areas. What’s more, carsharing users reduce their carbon footprint on average by 1 ton per year.
CODE_n places the vision of a global innovation network at the center of its activities. It hopes to provide young companies with a chance to get in contact with established businesses and to create new innovations. Continental’s contribution is a true example of success, showing us what open exchange can look like and how it can move everyone involved forward.

CODE_n is getting big! The next round of the global innovation competition is setting its sights on business models that tackle intelligent and efficient use of large data volumes. With this year’s slogan, “Driving the Data Revolution”, the CODE_n Contest is calling startups from around the world to apply by October 31, 2013. We invite the top 50 applicants to present their big data solutions at CeBIT 2014. The winner of the CODE_n14 Award will walk away with prize money totaling €30,000.
