Trouble for the Electric Car Industry?

Although the Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf, and Tesla Model S have been released to great fanfare, the electric car industry has had mixed results as of late. The Volt hasn’t made money—GM may even be losing money on each sale—and Nissan has sold fewer than 5,000 (out of an expected 25,000) Nissan Leafs. On the other hand, Tesla has over 10,000 orders for the Model S sedan, and delivered its first cars in June of this year. While electric cars are still in their infancy, if consumer interest doesn’t start to pick up, government support will waver. Read more at DailyFinance.
