A highly insightful panel discussion, two inspiring talks from the different worlds of corporate life and startups, plus an audience which just kept digging deeper. These were just some of the highlights of the CODE_n event held on February 21, 2017 at CODE_n SPACES: The Art of Guidance – The Complexity of Leading Corporations and Startups
CODE_n will be hosting an exciting event early this year on a crucial topic that drives many executives at established companies, SMEs, and startups alike: leadership. How will the role of leadership change in this modern age, especially given the way it is so closely shaped by new models for working, increasingly distributed teams, and digital disruption? Can leadership adapt to agile teams and increasingly blurred hierarchies? These questions and others will be addressed in an exchange of experiences on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at The Art of Guidance – The Complexity of Leading Corporations and Startups. It’s a CODE_n EVENT in the Guidance/Leadership series.
Can you believe it’s already day three of our new.New Festival? We hardly can! Two exciting days filled with a great conference program and a lucky CODE_n16 winner lie behind us – but of course our last day has a lot to offer as well! We’ll tell you what today’s highlights are and what you definitely shouldn’t miss!
Yesterday was the big day! At the CODE_n Award Show we finally got to know which promising startup won our CODE_n CONTEST this year. Drum rolls for… Xarion! The Vienna-based company left 385 competitors from 40 countries behind and secured the grand prize of €30,000! With their business model, they left a great impression on our jury! Xarion sets new yardsticks within the sectors of ultrasound imaging, process monitoring and testing technology. Their ground-breaking laser microphone combines a lot of benefits: insensitive to wind and vibration and highly precise in extremely high frequency ranges.
CODE_n initiator Ulrich Dietz announced Xarion as the winner of CODE_n16!
For three days, CODE_n will bring together selected pioneers, digital visionaries, innovation teams from established companies, scientists and of course inquisitive visitors. For three days, the CODE_n Social Media Team will give you an overview of the highlights of each festival day. Make sure you visit our blog to find out which sessions of our extensive conference program you shouldn’t miss, which renowned speakers you get to listen to and what workshop and side events are worth attending (although we’re sure all of them are 😉 )
The CODE_n main stage:
With an audience area of roughly 800 seats, the main stage provides room for inspiring insights. On the first festival day, this will be the spot where CODE_n initiator and GFT CEO as well as ZKM Chairman and CEO Prof. Dr. Weibel will welcome all new.New Festival visitors, startups and partners at 10am.
Afterwards, you might want to join the panel discussion on smart connected devices like NFC chip implants with Christopher Coenen, a political scientist and senior researcher at KIT-ITAS, blogger and programmer Enno Park, the Co-Founder of the Sweden-based biohacker network Bionyfiken Hannes Sjoblad, t3n editor in chief Stephan Dörner and multi-disciplinary artist Susanna Hertrich.
Also quite a highlight keynote (11.40am): Hyperloop CEO Dirk Ahlborn will let you know how he managed to crowdsource a massive project like the Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, a project on which a team of more than 480 experts around the globe are bringing disruptive innovation to the transportation industry.
We are rounding off the first festival day with an After Work event also happening on the main stage. Highlight of the evening will be a keynote speech by Winfried Kretschmann, Minister President of the state of Baden-Württemberg starting at 6:30 pm.
‘We are living the change – the course for change has been set. We’re fully aware of how important innovations are for our future’, as Uli Huener emphasises in our interview. Uli Huener is Head of Innovation Management at EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG. This year, EnBW is the new partner of CODE_n, the ecosystem designed to network digital pioneers.
Mr Huener, the energy industry in Germany faces major challenges in implementing the energy transition, not only technologically but also economically. What is your assessment of the pressure for change?
Uli Huener, EnBW: For the energy sector, the extent of anticipated change and need for transformation is unprecedented: there are social and fundamental market changes occurring simultaneously. This places strong pressure on the business models that have historically characterised the energy industry. In addition technology trends such as digitalization, increasing device connectivity / machine to machine communication put pressure on the existing utility business. Classic customer-supplier relationships are changing drastically, revolutionising the industry across the existing value chain. More…
