“What does collaboration need to succeed? Culture and consistency!” – Corporate-Startup event recap on June 22, 2017

Interested in a candid, behind-the-scenes look that steers clear of buzzword bingo? How about a discussion with like-minded people about the questions posed by digitalization? That’s what you’ll find at CODE_n themed events! In February, experienced leaders and entrepreneurs bounced around ideas on leadership in the digital age at “The Art of Guidance”. And the conversation continued on June 22, 2017 with “Corporate-Startup-Collaboration | Fuckups, Lessons Learned, and Cultural Differences.” The evening was all about sharing experiences, straight talk how things get screwed up, and exploring the keys to fruitful collaboration between a corporation and a startup. Taking “When worlds collide” as their motto, a couple of talks and a charged panel discussion offered expert insights into this highly topical issue. Chicago is proving to be a leading global tech startup hub: The city vibes show that early stage startups are gravitating to the ‘Windy City’

The US continues to lead the field in attracting tech startups as we reviewed in our previous article  “Pros and cons of promising tech startup hubs worldwide: Europe vs. US”. Digging a little deeper, Illinois, specifically the Chicago land area, is growing rapidly and has a hugely dynamic and supportive business environment suited especially well to tech startups.

Guest feature | Transmetrics and Dirk Reich on Logistics Industry and Entrepreneurship

On the Transmetrics blog we want to engage opinion leaders from the logistics industry into the discussion about important aspects and trends in the industry. Our first attempt at doing so is this interview with one of the industry champions – Dirk Reich, that I had a pleasure of conducting. Dirk Reich is an active board member of Panalpina, Inc. and LSG Group, a member of Advisory Board of Transmetrics, a former CEO of Cargolux Airlines and a former management board member of Kuehne + Nagel. “Our mission is to make the regional startup ecosystems visible across the whole of Germany!” | Event review – launch party of StartupSpot BaWü

Following the fantastic news that Stuttgart has officially been named one of twelve digital hubs in Germany, on May 17, 2017 it was full steam ahead for business founders in Baden-Wuerttemberg thanks to an exciting lineup of activities. The launch of StartupSpot BaWü, the new startup relationship tool initiated by Sina Gritzuhn, the founder of Hamburg Startups, was marked by an amazing opening party at CODE_n SPACES in Stuttgart. Just under 80 special guests were invited, most of them representatives of the regional startup scene, businesses, and partners in the local community. Not only was this a chance to mark the official launch, there was plenty of time to forge contacts and do some networking. As well as the party itself, there was a unique presentation on the StartupSpot database and some of the new business ideas being worked on by local startups.
